GLENS FALLS, NY — The Hyde Collection is proud to announce it received $3,000 for its free children’s programs from Stewart’s Shops‘ Holiday Match grant program.

“The Hyde is overjoyed by the generosity of Stewart’s Shops,” said Anne Saile, the Museum’s interim director. “Year after year, the company supports numerous local nonprofit organizations and the impact that has on our community is profound. We are proud to be among the recipients.”

Stewart’s Holiday Match program has raised nearly $26 million since its creation in 1986. The annual fundraiser — in which Stewart’s Shops matches money donated by its customers from Thanksgiving through Christmas — raised $1.89 million in 2017.

Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations that benefit children ages 18 and younger. At The Hyde, the Stewart’s Holiday Match grant helps fund free children’s programs, including weekly Tours for Tots and Artful Afternoons drop-in programs; Art Crawl, a monthly program for infants; and the monthly Art Lab program held the Second Sunday of each month.

“Having consistent support from organizations like Stewart’s makes it possible for the Museum to offer our children’s programs free of charge,” said Museum Educator Jenny Hutchinson. “The physical, emotional, and social benefits of arts education are well documented, so with Stewart’s Shops’ support, we can offer children in our community opportunities that change their lives.”
