C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios is seeking artists to participate in a juried silent art auction exhibit as part of C.R.E.A.T.E.’s fundraising event, “Help Us Soar Fall Fundraiser.” The silent auction shines a spotlight on the region’s diverse and talented visual arts community, and on the importance of the arts & creativity in personal and community wellbeing.
All 2-D, 3-D, and fine craft artists are eligible to submit. Visual artists working in all styles and media are invited to apply, including painters, sculptors, ceramicists, fiber artists, jewelers, and photographers. Deadline for submissions is Sept. 1st, 2018. The theme of the event is “Help Us Soar,” and artwork should focus on wind, nature, or the transformative power of art. We specifically encourage artwork that interacts with, or becomes a part of the outdoor environment, i.e. kinetic sculptures, artwork for the creative garden, unique kites, wind chimes, or other artwork in this vein.
The event will be held at Pitney Meadows Community Farm, 223 West Ave. Saratoga Springs, on Saturday Sept. 29th, 2018 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm. The final bid for each artwork sold will be donated to C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios to support its mission and community programs.
C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios is a non-profit community art studio begun by local art therapists. Our mission is to provide access to the healing qualities of art-making for all members of our community. We currently run two studios, one in Saratoga Springs, and the other in Schenectady, New York. At the studios we offer workshops, groups, and open studio hours for children, adolescents, and adults. Some of these target specific populations such as adults in recovery, autism, mental health, homeschool groups, etc. We also collaborate with agencies to provide customized groups or activities on-site or in our studios. Please take some time to look at our website & calendar of events. http://www.createcommunitystudios.org/
