The Space We Make, a performance collective run by Adirondack natives Simon Thomas-Train and Caitlin Scholl, is returning to the Recovery Lounge to produce an exciting artistic residency and performance event for local audiences. From August 20 to 25, a group of 10 professional artists, ranging from dancers to musicians to media and visual artists, will converge upon Upper Jay where they will collaborate with each other and the unique environs to create an evening-length slate of experimental, immersive and innovative performance art that will be shared with the community on Saturday, August 25.

Tentatively titled The End of the World, the event will be created within the frame provided by the idea of a “post-apocalyptic cabaret at the end of the world.” Approaching our lives from this “other” side of history may be an important step in appreciating all that is still pure, beautiful and sacred about the present — especially the unique landscapes, natural and cultural, that still exist and thrive in the Adirondacks.
