Glens Falls, NY – The World Awareness Children’s Museum is proud to announce The World Awareness Children’s Short Film Festival, Saturday, September 15th at Saratoga Arts in Saratoga Springs, NY (320 Broadway). This fun and unique event promotes the museums message of educating and promoting new cultures from around the world to children by showcasing family friendly short films from film makers all around the globe! The program will have two showcases, which will have the following timeframes: Showcase A: 12pm, 4pm / Showcase B: 2pm, 6pm. Each showcase is 75 minutes long and tickets are $10 general admission, or $8 for museum members for each showtime. The festival is open to receiving submissions from local film makers until August 30th. The Museum is also excited to bring author Bruce Hiscock to the museum Friday, August 24th!  Join us as Bruce takes us on an educational adventure about acid raid, its local impact, and what we can do to stop it! Bruce will also spend time teaching us how to draw marine life! Pencils and pens will be provided. Please call 518.793.2773 to reserve your spot! The event will start at 1pm and is appropriate for children in 2nd grade and older. The event will be held at our museum (89 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY).

The museum also has its recurring weekly programs going on at the museum the rest of the summer, including:

. Explore, Create, Investigate: Monday Morning Workshops (Monday mornings at 10:30am) – Drawing, painting, sculpting, and mixed media art workshops based on the themes in the Water, Water, Everywhere! exhibition, every Monday from 10:30 – 11:30am, July 16th – August 27th. Sea creatures, boats, vessels and more! The workshops are free with museum admission ($5, children under 3 are free!). Last program date is Monday, August 27th.

. Paint And Sip at The Museum (Tuesday afternoons at 1:30pm) – For ages 5 and up. Paint something new each week on canvas with instruction. Juice provided. $20 per parent/child duo, and $5 for each additional child. 10% discount for members. Call the museum at 51.793.2773 for reservations. Last program date is Tuesday, August 21st.

. Storytime Fridays (Friday mornings, 9:00am – 11:00am): Join us Fridays at 10:30am for Storytime Friday! We will have a different story and craft each week with a cultural theme, and is appropriate for ages 3 and up. Storytime Fridays are free with admission ($5, children under 3 are free). Late program date is Friday, August 31st.
