Bill Kistner

Park Coffee House in Holland Patent invites you to its Local Favorites Fundraiser on December 1 at 7:30 PM. All of the performers are volunteering their time and talents to benefit the coffee house and Foothills Rural Community Ministry, its parent organization. This event will feature a rich variety of acoustic groups and solo performers. Plus, there’s bound to be a few surprises to round out what promises to be an evening of great entertainment.

It’s a tradition: Bill Kistner will kick off the concert with a few tunes. He’s also likely to impress the audience with some of his vast knowledge of music. Dan Sargent has been making appearances at Park Coffee House over the years as a solo performer and as a member of a couple of popular local groups. Dan is known for his sparse, self-taught finger picking style and for singing in Polish from time to time.

Too Many Allens will be back for this Local Favorites. Ken Allen, a Park Coffee House founder, plus Vicky Stockton Allen and Jim Allen will be performing their version of traditional Southern blues.

Just about everyone knows and loves Rattlin Bog. Joe Rowlands and Rick Kincaid, the pillars of the group, will be joined by the rest of the band to entertain with their rousing brand of Celtic focused music and plenty of their signature humor.

Local Favorites will be presented in the welcoming Park Coffee House candle lit setting to mark the finale of the fall concerts of the current season. Coffee, tea, cocoa, cider, and homemade desserts prepared and served by volunteers will be available for a donation before the concert and during the intermission. Proceeds benefit the local food pantry operated by Foothills Rural Community Ministry. FRCM has been helping our rural neighbors in need for nearly 40 years. More information on this local non-denominational charity and its many programs can be found at www.foothillsruralcommunityministry.org

The doors will open at 7:00 PM, and the music starts at 7:30 PM. Admission is $10.00, $5.00 for students, and no charge for children 12 and under.

Park Coffee House is located at the historic Twin Churches, in the village of Holland Patent, just off Main Street (NYS Route 365), across from the park.

Now in its thirty-sixth year, Park Coffee House will return in January. Details on the performers and dates for the winter/spring concerts of this 2018-2019 season will be released before the end of December.
