Friday, December 14th (10:00am – 11:00am): St. Lucia’s Day Celebration – Saint Lucia’s Day, also known as Luciadagen, marks the beginning of the Christmas season in Scandinavia (a region that includes Sweden, Norway, and Denmark). Join us Friday, December 14th, from 10:00am – 11:00am as we celebrate and learn about this amazing holiday, where children will hear a story about St. Lucia, decorate their own wreath crown, serve food in the traditional manner and enjoy holiday treats together. Event is free with general admission ($5, children under 3 are free).

Saturday, December 15th (1:00pm – 2:30pm): Winter Paint And Sip – Our popular and family friendly Paint And Sip series returns Saturday, Dec. 15th with a seasonal theme! Guest teacher Patrice Jarvis-Webber will instruct us on creating an amazing winter painting! Cost is $20 per child/adult duo ($5 for each additional child). Monday, December 17th (3:30pm – 4:30pm): Hopi Winter Solstice Weaving Workshop – December has been held sacred for over a thousand years to the Hopi Indians; the month is associated with the arrival of the Katchina, who brings the Sun back to the world. Join us as we host a Hopi Weaving craft workshop Monday, Dec. 17th, 3:30pm – 4:30pm. Workshop is best suited for children 2nd grade and older.

The museum will be hosting “Members Only Mornings” the second Tuesday of each month, 10:00am – 12:00pm, where members get exclusive time to visit and explore the museum. Interested in becoming a member? You can check out the Membership page on our website.

The museum is also looking for volunteers!: Do you enjoy giving back to the community? Then consider volunteering at the World Awareness Children’s Museum! We’ve been offering fun and educational multicultural programming to the community for over 20 years, and with multiple ways to volunteer (events/art collection/front desk, etc.), you can help us make a positive impact on children in the community!
