North Creek, NY – A new exhibit featuring artistic works by members of Johnsburg Fine Arts is currently on display at the Tannery Pond Community Center. The exhibit of the nine artists’ work will be open through February 27, with an Opening Reception on Friday, February 8, from 5 to 7 pm. Refreshments will be served.
Membership in Johnsburg Fine Arts is open to adults, with any level of ability. Classes, which are funded in part by the Town of Johnsburg, are held weekly on Tuesday mornings, 9:30 am to noon at the Sodom Scout Hall at the intersection of State Route 8 and Peaceful Valley Rd. On the second and fourth Tuesdays, artist Kate Hartley leads drawing and painting lessons, and advises participants on their continuing projects. The group experiments with a variety of painting media – oils, pastels, acrylics and watercolor. All levels of “artists” are welcome in the group.
The mission of Johnsburg Fine Arts, Inc. is to provide creative opportunities for adults in the community through weekly visual arts classes, skills development, arts appreciation, group exhibitions and community projects.
